Because the board got shutdown again because of a load of database, I had to fettle with the settings again.
As part of that, the server no longer stores what topics you have or haven't read.
IT IS STILL RECORDED!
But now, that information lives in a delicious cookie, rather than the forum database.

Upside: this should reduce the load of database.
Downside: if you use multiple devices to access the board, or you reject delicious cookies, you won't always have that information cookie. But the New Posts feature should take care of that.

If you cannot Debauch because you get an IP blacklist error, try Debauching again time. It may work immediately, it may take a few attempts. Some unpleasant miscreant was firing incessant database queries at our server, which forced the Legal Department of our hosting company, via their Abuse subdivision, to shut us down. No I have none.
All I can do it button the hatches, and tighten up a few things. Such as time limits on how long you may take to compose a post and hit Debauch! As of 24/01/10, I've set that at 30 minutes for now.

To restrict further overloads, any unregistered users had to be locked out.
How do we know who is or isn't an unregistered user?
By forcing anyone who wants in to Log In.
Is that annoying?
Yes. But there's only so much the Administerrerrerr can do to keep this place running.

As far as the pinkies go, how about I just crash one off for you all? I figure they're just like turn-signals... Gonna come off sooner or later!

How do you post pics? Do I need a gallery or some sort of internet account?

This was my racebike for the one and only weekend I attended last season. Stupid knee surgery! I let my 5 year old nephew paint it! That is, of course, if I know how to link a video.

Cant remember the names of corners, is this the right left at the end of back straight? road drops away as you apex turning left, major pucker factor every lap. Have not raced there since they repaved the track, concrete patches were fun.

Good luck at Barber, museum is the best part.

I like your nephew's work. Whaddya think he'd charge for a set of buell ulysses plastics?

For pics you'll need to have them up on a photobucket, flicker, or some such. Paste the pics url into a post, highlight it, then click the "Img" button near the top of the "Post a reply" page.

Thanks. Already have an account with Flikr. I'll give it a shot. As for now, it's time to down some coffee and hit the twisties!

Oh yeah. That first paint-job cost me a yo-yo. He told me to just find him a bag of cotton-candy for the next one. Painting tonight!

Does the nephew like shiny-things? I have a moderately diverse collection of bent/burnt/broken pieces of metal that used to be stainless valves and transmission parts, and I need to get the gel-coat covered-up on the dragbike bodywork.

Oh yeah, and Welcome!

PS - pay no attention to the digit-collectors. You can keep them distracted with video of an old suzuki rotary-valve motor - just tell them it's a "pinkilloutine".

... but there is an "M" and an "E."

(Not that this actually applies here, but that is the first thing I always think when I hear that "There is no 'I' in team" line.)
