Ok i can lie about credentials easily enough and lying about my skills is easy.

Writing my interests however is a TOTAL PAIN IN THE ASS!

I mean i cant just write "Motorbikes, videogames, warhammer, swords and obscure brittish comedies"


If im honest im going to come off as a whackjob.

maybe my creative writing skills have just abandoned me tonight.

Hey - when I was interviewing with IBM they asked me what my hobbies and pastimes were. I told them my primary method of stress relief basically was that I enjoy generally sadistic activities that involve shooting people with high velocity projectiles that cause massive amounts of pain or mental anquish in their being lame ducks on the battlefield as I laugh my god-complex-induced laugh at them from elongated distances waving - hoping the target's team does not in fact also have a sniper, then repeating to myself as I honed in on the next target 'I decide who lives and who dies.'

The only reason I have this down fairly clearly is because they wrote it down for me and its in my file I got a copy of when I was let go. I think they got the joke of the fact I meant paintball and airsoft. All I know is when I told the hiring manager this - he laughed his ass off and told me I had "unique character." I think he called IBM's mental health line immediately after - but I got the job!

I say be yourself. Fuck'em if they can't see the unique individual you are and how that will benefit their company.

At least... that's the attitude I'm taking into my interview this coming Tuesday.

Actually I think my last resume did have, under the "Additional Skills" section something along the lines of "free-styling creative writer of all things from resumes to fiction and all potential avenues in between." So I guess that is roughly professional bullshit artist. Yep. Works for me.
