i have gotten a rather brutal english teacher for this 5 weeks, which i am in the middle of.

four papers in five weeks. not too bad. until one counts up the annotated bibliographies for each paper. the rough drafts. the peer reviews. the formatting from hell. the quizzes on each chapter(7 so far). i have spent about 15 hours each on each of the first two papers. however, i know that this is merely preparation for the upper level classes i start taking in the fall. but this class will be a C. that sucks, but the torture will soon be over. that's what they keep telling me, anyway...

it's a great thing that my german class is the first class of the day, or i'd never make it to english at all.

i had hoped to be able to use the schools swimming pool after class, but not this five weeks, as i have no time.

Oh, that's right -- THAT'S why I hated school.

And you gotta pay for the privilege of being shat upon.

Blech. My condolences. The Paper is nice and opens lots of doors, but it's a right miserable pain in the arse while getting it.

after this summer, i will only have three more core classes: one more polisci, one more biology, and one more math. i think i will save the last two for last...

but on the plus side, if i keep up the grades in german this summer, by august i will have a certificate of proficiency in it that i can put on my resume.

and the fall classes i am hoping will be fun, although i know they will be hard.

Good luck. Work hard and it'll all be over soon. When you're through, you won't remember all the pain. Or maybe it's that you'll appreciate your battle scars.

Aaaaahhhh. The pain of the bibliography. The best part is that once you've got them down pat, you go to work for someone else who wants them formatted in a completely different way. :P

Sorry to hear about the lack of pool time. Don't forget that a small amount of pool time might keep you relaxed enough to work more efficiently than without it.

Keep the faith. A very good buddy of mine just finished his law degree. Suffering 3 years in a crappy little town on the opposite side of the country from his adopted home and all his friends. It's all for the better in the end.

On the plus side, it's only five weeks, right? Kinda like pulling off a band-aid, you can get it out of the way instead of suffering for the next couple of months with the professor.

an updated update.

<s>i have no effing clue what my grade in english ended up as and i may not know for another week.</s> B in english. <s> passed the german class though.</s> A in german.

this five weeks i am doing biology lab with the next german class.

i will try not to blow up the building. or get myself hurt(which is more likely).

and in my head i am planning to study in europe next summer, so as to avoid this miserable heat.
