Yes, there, I said it. He did a lot of ridiculous things with NSU engines, but he never did anything like this:

Several builders have taken the route of joining engines into a V configuration but Chris Ireland, editor of Brit Chopper magazine, sent me this photo of his just completed straight 8. The 6 month build is the combination of 2 1200cc NSU air cooled auto engines, joined end to end with the cranks running 90 degrees apart for that V8 sound and power delivery. He also attached a GMC supercharger for good measure. The distributor is a Rover unit chain driven from the end of the overhead cam..
Whoa nelly! This looks like the proverbial crossing between x and a russian nuclear plant!

Come on, no one thinks this is utterly nutterly and totally beautiful and very much delicious? Yeah, it's for a trike, but since when do we discriminate? We even talk about cages around here!

and blown. Really looks like a lot of work but nothing groundbreaking. Should have just put a blower on a 427 SOHC Ford. Would have been easier and much more pleasant to look at. But then, to each his own

You know, if I didn't know that the philistines were no less cultured than other peoples of their time, well, you know what I'd call you.

I think it's effin' beautiful.

It is nifty, and the engineering must have been a bit of a task, but if you want a beautiful engine, then this is it:

Sure it's not as big but...

The first one looks almost steampunk to me.

I'm sorry DG we're usually on pretty much the same page, but this one falls into the category of "people do some weird things" for me.
