Behold: BACON PESTO!

An idea Don, CJP, and I have been throwing around for a while, has finally been rendered in tangible form:
In addition to the standard base of olive oil, fresh basil, garlic, salt, and lime juice, our version contained five tablespoons of bacon grease, 10 strips of (cooked) bacon, pistachios, and aged asiago cheese.

We thought it had started raining, but realized it was all the angels in heaven, drooling on our roof.
Next time?
I think chunkier bacon- the more we added and blended, the more homogenized it got. The earlier iterations were actually a bit better, having tasty nuggets of bacon still intact.
we may add some mint, as well.
