Wife just got laid off. Fucking fuckity fuck! We were doing reasonably well too. We've got a months worth of severance to find her a new gig. On the up side, she won't have to work for a douchebag frat brat any more.

And if it helps (I'd guess it wouldn't right now, but maybe later), it took me 1 month to find a new gig. Granted, I have to drive all the way across the state weekly, but I feel it's worth it for now. It's only a 6-month contract, so the commuting will come to an end.

Thanks all for the good thoughts. Her mood could've gone either way, and she's hitting the ground running. I sure do love that woman. I'm sure there'll be some ups and downs in the coming weeks, but we've got our game faces on for the moment. She's already applied for a job with the state as a fraud investigator, and is starting to pluck at the networking strings. Fingers crossed.

@ Pintgudge- The job she's leaving was an office/operations manager for a small investment firm. She also has a law degree and worked defending Snohomish county in civil suits for a number of years.
