Sidecar Motocross racing.

I'm out here in the desert, and I ended up hooking up with two Estonian dudes who are also out here working to ride. One of them has been racing motocross his whole life, and has more metal parts in his body than anyone I've ever met.
All four limbs and his face have been reconstructed. He was pronounced dead on the scene after being cut off by a left turning station wagon at 50 mph, and randomly started breathing on his own again. He hit the back of a pickup going 160 mph (on his GSXR 1000), broke the rods that were ALREADY in his arms from the station wagon, and was back on his dirtbike within a few months (even though he couldn't kickstart it himself, and had to have someone else do it).

Anyway, suffice it to say that riding with this cat and his friend have been a blast and is helping me to learn a lot about dirt riding. Apparently he is ranked number five in the U.S. for sidecar motocross racing, which I've never heard of.
Alas I tried to watch a video of it, but this crappy company computer won't let me, nor can I embed one. Here, though, is a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPvesXbuer4
I can't imagine this NOT being interesting. Let me know how it looks.

They had some guys running (vintage) sidecars at the last vintage national I went to in TX. Got to ride in the car around the pasture in a highstrung ktm two-stroke rig. It was damn scary. Could not believe how hard it iwas to hang on and stand in the right spot to turn. The problem with hanging on was the power delivery of the big two-stroke and not being in control of the throttle. The actual ride was pretty smooth.
Much fun.
