ICP IN STUMP TOWN

I was talking to a friend of my today who works for the Portland Mercury....
For some reason we started talking about the Insane Clown Posse (ICP) being in town when he told me a photographer he knows set up a photo booth at the concert....

That baby is unbelievably fucked. Remember that face, 1 year from now we will see this woman in the news, after she does enough meth that she actually believes that her hungry crying baby is the devil and she eats it. Story at 11. Also, smoking while pregnant is good for everyone.

Karl, I hope you weren't there...
I was in downtown PDX after an ICP show got out sometime early this year. It was a sight to behold. Meth/whathaveyou addled kids running amuck everywhere and big intersections had squads of nervous coppers fiddling with their batons waiting for something to happen.

Oddly enough, most Juggalos are just hyped up on too much Faygo and adrenaline. They are quite a site to behold though, especially if you are unfamiliar with the sub-culture - it's very testosterone laced, even with the girls (Juggalettes).
Yes, ICP is one of my guilty pleasures (ducks). Although I have to admit I like their label-mates
Twiztid much much more. I take none of it seriously, and all of it very tongue-in-cheek.
I have been to my share of ICP shows, but I never go painted up or get too close to the front of the stage.
You don't know misery until you exit a theater at night in 65 degree weather, soaked to the bone in Diet Root Beer Faygo*, and then have to get into a car and drive home. Never, never, never, never again. (OK, so I did the front-of-the-stage thing once, just to see what it was like. Root Beer and contact lenses are not a good mix.)
ICP (and Twiztid) shows are
very interesting places to people-watch though. I highly recommend bringing lawn chairs and popcorn. Bring small bottles of Faygo too...if they start looking restless, just chuck Faygo towards them and they'll leave you alone.
*ICP sprays the crowd with Faygo during their shows. They use warm Diet Root Beer because it sprays farther and launches the 2-liter bottles farther than any other Faygo flavor.

As if Detroit didnt havea bad enough reputation, they get to claim ICP as native sons.
I wish shaggey2dope and his partner (cant remember name) would get blown off the Macinac Bride while driving a Yugo. In a perfect world, Eminem and kidrock would be in the backseat. A real renissance of michigan music could then begin.

I believe The Mag and I are going as ICP fans for Halloween. It is a brilliant costume idea.
