So, the fastest bit of kit is the cheapest? How many sports have
that to say for themselves?!
Any US brethren living near any big sand dunes? California or Lake Michigan area cells?

A bunch of kids I used to know would go do that in Colorado. Never tried it, always wanted to.

We have those here in CO. I have actually done that with an old snowboard and another specific piece of equipment called a 'junkyard' (Basically a rubber skateboard with a 2 foot single Ski strapped to the bottom) that truly has no other purpose than to try to murder it's operator.
Boarding down dunes can be easily replicated at home, go for a 10 mile run in the deep end of a swimming pool, go out to your driveway at the peak temperature of the day, take your shirt off, lie there without sunscreen for approximately 2.5 hours, stand back up, get a full speed running start, and dive at the concrete, when come to a stop, pick your nipples up off the ground and run over to a nearby pile of gravel and start shoving it into all of your orifices.
There, you have now experienced all of the fun that there is to be had sledding/boarding/falling down a sand dune. And no, you will never be able to use the board for anything else ever again. If all of this sounds fun to you, I can point you in that direction when you come out for Ragnarok.

I've done this on the Oregon coast, smaller scale, but same principal.
It was a lot of fun, but WAY more work hiking back up the hill after each brief down run!
