Is looking forward to the purchase of possibly one of most dangerous to operate vehicles in the world?

That'd be me.

1960ish Jeep FC150:

There's only about 160 of these still registered, out of 30K made. The one I'm looking at isn't quite in this good of shape, but not far off.

Well, I hate to say it, but I passed. $4500 plus the amount of repairs it would need magnified by relative difficulty in obtaining parts. It is in Salida, CO if anyone else is interrested....I wouldn't mind a project, but I'm afraid this one is just a bit more than what I'm willing to tackle.

my stepdad and i got a running FC150 about 15??? yrs ago....fun little truck...it was an airport maintenance vehicle so it had low miles and a pimp yellow beacon on top...he still has it but he is a packrat and will most likely never part with it...

Sounded like a cool one, but if the love wasn't there, you are better off to pass. Keep looking, that thing is stupid cool!

Tell me I'm wrong, but I think this looks like the kind of minimalist-but-rubbish single-piece-of-sheet-metal sort of thing you used to see in pictures from the eastern block. You know, they didn't have the wherewithal to make it look pretty but, in the attempt, made it look worse.
