This X-ray reveals the abuse suffered by a cat killed by a nail attack in Christchurch.
It has been released by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
The female cat was found dead in Sparks Road in Hoon Hay last month with a dozen 85-millimetre nails in its head.
Canterbury SPCA spokeswoman Fiona Maddison hoped information from the public would lead to the offender being caught.
"When the puss first came in, that was bad enough," she said. "To actually see the nails in its head in the X-ray is even more sickening and disturbing."
Anyone with information should call 3497057.
I hope for, and would gladly administer, very bad things to happen to people who do things like this. Very bad things for a long time.
Mankind just disappoints me sometimes. This is seriously fucked up.

The irony is that a cat would do that to a human in a heartbeat, if only they could hold the nails and swing the hammer.
I love cats dearly -- a die-hard cat person -- but I've no misconceptions about what psychotic homicidal little fuckers cats are. It's part of the appeal to me.
(Pound for pound I'll take cats over dogs any day.)
All joking aside, tho, yes, that's fucked up and disturbing. The perp needs... something, not sure if it's a shrink or a good prison raping, but SOMETHING...

I agree with Jaeger that were try larger animals, cats would probably torture and eat us alive. But they're not, and people should torture beings their own size. Or hey, maybe not torture other beings at all. How's that for a radical concept?

The irony is that I would be more likely to do that to a human than a cat, or nearly any other living thing................... people sometimes deserve it.

I don't care if you hate cats or not, it's fucking bullshit to torture any animal like that. I acquired a cat when Kelley moved in and we've reached a state of mutual respect. I have to say, though, when I was sick last week she cuddled up on me and purred herself unconscious. Damn cute little fucker...I still think she was waiting for me to die so she could eat me.

IMO, animals are generally better than people.
I can think of a few people I'd to do this to, starting with whoever did this to this poor kitty.

I think whoever did this is sick either way, but I wonder if it was alive when this was done to it and if so, why shoot the other eleven nails into it. After the first one, I can't imagine the cat was still alive.

It's cruel, sick, and definitely overkill. That cat was more than likely dead partway through that process, so the rest of those nails were just because they could. Beyond being really really pissed off at the animal, I'm not sure what would incite that much hate. I don't know if I want to know what motivated this.
