I have no idea what these are, they are calling them 'power wheels' but I have never heard of them before. Does anyone know anything about these? I would really like one, they look extremely fun.

I don't know anything about them, they do look like a lot of fun though!

By the way, are your legs not broken quite enough yet? Just askin'!

Haha... very funny. I heal really fast and I am smart but I never downloaded the patch that updates the 'self preservation' firmware.

I would be glad to hurt myself on something like this, if I could do it with a 2 foot wide shit eating grin on my face before I plow into a snowbank.

Seriously, we all ride motorcycles of some sort, there is an inherent shade of crazy that accompanies that activity... so I don't want to hear about how "that looks dangerous". Danger is often a big part in the equation that results in fun.

Seriously though... are these off road go-karts? I watched the video again... I WANT ONE NOW? I might build one this winter. (Oh wait, the motorcycle is getting a teardown this winter... shit, I need a longer winter.)

Those things look like a damn boat load of fun.. and I found this:

http://www.modifiedpowerwheels.com/foru ... 104&#74105

So.. looks like i need to build one, too!!! Seems like the motor & pulleys came out of a golf cart. If you're going to do chain drive.. why not a cr-250 or something ridiculous?!

I seem to recall someone falling off a scooter and BREAKING THEIR GODDMAMN SKULL at DOOM!!!

That said, we probably should bring a couple of these to the scooter rally. :P

I can't fathom why anyone here would bother with a pocket SUV................. if your going to bother with a toy, wouldn't a pocket BIKE be more appropriate?

I was about to remark that where I come from, they call those things "go-karts".

The guy that owns the shop where I work has a few of them - one with a modified RZ-350 motor that makes about 75hp. ...course, the ones I'm thinking of are made for asphalt with slick tires...

....but yeah, it's been done.

You can probably pick one up at Pep Boys.

The 2 SUV looking ones look remarkably like quads, add an RZ350 engine and you get...

Did someone say Banshee?

I think MATPOC is correct. At least that's what they appear to be based on. IME the sound is exactly what I hear around here all f*cking summer.
I'm sure I'll see at least one or two in my neighborhood, given the local element's fetish for such things.

the vehicles at the 'power wheels modding' forum are electric, and the ones in the video sound like small four-strokes to me. I think the vehicles might be electric-toy-car bodies grafted onto small quads, if not small engines grafted in replacing electric motors in the toy chassis.

Not all of them are electric.. there are two threads under the speed forum about converting the toys to gas power..one with a slew of pictures and information.

You've never heard of Power Wheels? I've never seen you before, but I'm under the impression that you are a large fellow. I think it would be terribly amusing to see you in a modded version of this at Ragnarok

Cute kid. I can just imagine what is going through his head:\

"Listen you sonofabitch. Shut the camera off and turn this mutha around so I can tear up the driveway!!!"

I just discovered these: I want one... they are GORGEOUS.
Screw the power wheels, these are real cars.

Beautiful cars, made from vintage bumper cars; These make all the WANT juices in my brain percolate with giddiness.

I want one of these so bad I could squirt. I don't care even in the slightest how hilariously ridiculous I would look in one.

The bumper cars, they look hilarious, and probably are a lot of fun, until you try to corner...I wonder, could one be equipped with esp?

I'll bet this is more comfortable than riding in a SMART FOURTWO. Me likey, but I'd need a canon on the back end for all the Dodge Ram diesel douches who like to roar up your tailpipe, here in Saudi Aurora.

I have driven the fourtwo. It handles like crap. It's not exactly much of a goer. It looks stupid and sounds wheezy. Those are beyond question.

But I never, ever, have driven anything else, including a 1989 Merc 560 SEL, a Volkswagen T4 and one of these, that offered more legroom and space for my vast feet on top of the pedals.
I'm 6'3", so legroom is really gosh-darn important to me.
