Stealing a car to get to your hearing for your last auto-theft? Really?!!!! What short-bus window-licker thought this was a good idea?

CHP says Oakland man stole car to get to court

Vehicles, it seems, may be the bane of Oakland resident Samuel George Botchvaroff's existence.
In recent months, the 24-year-old's vehicle was impounded during an arrest, leaving him without transportation.

On Tuesday, he needed to get to Vallejo for his arraignment in an auto theft case.

With no way to get there, he apparently stole a car in Oakland and drove it to Vallejo, where he attended court, California Highway Patrol officials said.

Meanwhile, officials were notified of the theft and tracked the car to the Vallejo courthouse, compliments of the car's LoJack device.

As Botchvaroff entered the car, officials said, they arrested him. He was booked into Solano County Jail on suspicion of auto theft and possession of stolen property.

This guy is actually onto something. He takes a nearby car for point-to-point use, like a Zipcar. He's using GPS to make the vehicle available to a networking system (in his case, unintentionally) and the vehicle is now available for someone else leaving the courthouse. Sounds pretty cutting-edge to me.

Unintentional personal rapid transit?
Sounds like something Alan from Boston Legal would have argued (and damn the man that canceled the Shat again).

Last name sounds Slavic to me, contrary to a stereotype not Polish but Russian or Ukrainian (Belorussian?)
