When Lynn Middlebrooks Geter found that her 12-year-old son's report card wasn't to her liking, she didn't offer to help him with homework or ask teachers for extra instruction. No, she decided something more drastic was in order...
The 38-year-old mom from Warm Springs, Georgia decided the best way for her boy to learn was to kill his pet hamster. With a hammer.
The kid, naturally, was quit upset. What would happen with his next report card? Would he have to beat his sister to death to improve his commitment to math? So he told his teacher about it the next day.
The teacher called social workers, who in turn called the Meriwether County sheriff's department. For her visionary parenting strategies, Geter is now in jail for animal cruelty, child cruelty and battery.
With a motherfucking hammer...

A totally reprehensible and fucked up thing to do to your kid. And I'm not for animal cruelty in any way, shape, or form...
But have you ever worked with a hamster? They are mostly mean, nasty, biting little motherfuckers. A gerbil I'd shed tears for. Dumb as a stick, but nice. Hamster, well, I feel bad for the kid and the principle. All I'm really saying is I deeply believe the hamster would've done it to the kid given half a chance.
Still a sick and fucked up circumstance.

I use to say, "everytime I step outside I lost faith in humanity even more." I didn't even have to go outside for that. Fuck I hate people sometimes.

well, as bad as the mother is, I'm not sure the kid will have a brighter future without a mom. As bas as they can be, kids often want to keep them rather that going to an adoptive family where they'll only be "that other kid"... for what I've seen.
the kid is f*cked either way.

i believe fathers are every bit as capable of being single parental units as mothers are. give the boy to his dad or one of the other relatives, IF any of them can prove they are sane.
