it looks nice enough, especially during the day, and especially now that they've chased the hookers out.
back during the barry administrations it was quite a bit different....
if you wander, wander west and south...not east and north

Naaw, naw -- that's Baltimore. Curiously, I don't believe we have ever taken a UTMC field trip to The Block (I did suggest it a couple of times...)
Saturday the 20th? Cool. Do something we must.

barring any acts of dog, transportation should be no problem.
DC does, however, usually get its biggest showfalls around President's Day.
just sayin.

Aaaaagggh! I would love to come down to visit, but I will be in Chem class most of the day Saturday the 20th. I don't know if I can swing down after class, but there may be a chance. Let me know if there are any festivities that you're planning.

Stupid geography! Why do I miss all the good stuff?
and Jaeger..... DO NOT TAKE HER TO THE BLOCK!!!
Sunny, prepare yourself for a most excellent adventure with the Middle-East UTMC, I miss those bastards and bastets!
On a side note, I never knew there was an actual berry named the Marion berry until I arrived here in the PNW. When I saw "marion berry pie" and "marion berry muffins", I asked if they were so tasty it was like they were filled with cocaine. People here had no idea what i was referring to, had to 'splain it.
As it turns out, yeah, they are damn tasty.

All right, since the snow completely, and utterly fucked my plans for this weekend, I've had to change them to next weekend, so I won't be around for this.

Let's not forget his famous quote..."bitch set me up".
Don't worry SR, we won't "set you up".

so, what would you want to do ? good food ? dive bar ?
in (what i would consider to be) reasonable
walking distance includes from the trendy hipster joints at dupont circle to chinatown (which is now reduced to little more than a block), so there is a huge range of choices.
tapas ?
mezze ?
the subway opens up a larger range, and i have no qualms about driving anywhere in the city, so your options are wide open.
too many neighbourhood joints to list.
i like the comfort food at
Cafe Deluxe.
i've never been dissapointed at
Open City, either.
Both are easily Metro-accessable.
the scooter set frequently meets at the Pug (no link that I know of) as well as
Duffy's .
or the last of the old fashioned biker bars,
Daniel's (but thats a bit of a hike...more a Baltimore scene than DC).

because i am rather at y'alls mercy, you all decide.
only one caveat: i have it on good authority that there is no tex-mex food in DC, no matter what they advertize.
however, a good burger place that serves beer would be jangleplatz!
jaeger has my cell phone number and can disseminate it amongst the brethren as wanted/needed.
my home internet is still down. but i'm not bitching because lots of folks still don't have electricity.
(i am currently at school trying to get the homework assignments and resources downloaded)
