amazing. Granted, I'm a luddite but it truly is amazing. I really enjoyed the speaker and his views regarding the role of technology and interfacing. Wow.

I had seen some low level demos around the web of the earlier stuff, but this blows it away! This is so jangleplatz it makes my head spin!

I want to win Lotto and use the money to make this part of my classroom.
Interactive smart-desks, motion-controlled board, the freedom to teach from ANY part of the room instead of being slaved to the front of the classroom. My mind is reeling at the possibilities this would open up.
Yep, definitely NEED to win Lotto.

That's pretty sweet, BUT he is forgetting the big, major selling point that made mice and keyboards more popular than the old light-pens and stuff that had been around on big systems like SAGE since the 50s.

You don't actually have to move your arms to use the current system.
This, while certainly useful and totally cool and I want it NOW, looks way too much like exercise.

I wasn't feeling it until Ames' scenario. I can see it's use in presentation or collaborative work. That would be pretty neat.

But I'm not quite sure of the system for personal computer use. I'm not about to wave my hands in front of a screen at home to do online banking or to check Rants & Rides. Besides, he's still using a pointing device to interact with the computer. Ok, two multi-function pointing devices. But much of what was shown could be accomplished with touch computing.

I liked the computer interacting with the physical models though.

I agree, they'll likely make a lazy version. I just hope it arrives before I die of carpal tunnel syndrome! No lazy version for me, I'll be dancing around like Elton John in a sunglasses factory.... or maybe like Lux Interior in a brothel... either way I'll be wearing high heels!
