...or unnervingly soft and plyable roofs:

A suicidal man jumped to a seemingly certain death from a 40-story Upper West Side rooftop yesterday -- but miraculously survived when he landed on a sports car, police said.

Tom Magill, 22, suffered just a broken leg, a shattered ankle and a collapsed lung after his 10:44 a.m. leap from atop the West End Towers on West End Avenue at 63rd Street.
.....

Magill fell more than 400 feet -- and reached a maximum drop speed of about 126 mph -- before crashing onto the roof and rear window of the vehicle, which was parked along the west side of the building.
Wow...tough luck. Not only is he still alive, he'll have a horrendous medical bill and that guy's car to pay for. Well, if at first you don't succeed...

Seriously though, quite amazing, and a good thing he failed at his cunning plan.

Does not compute.

that's the bad thing about suicide, you really look like a dork after you fail.
The guy is an actor, is first appearance was in ""Trauma: Life in the E.R." then in "paramedics" :)

some residents told cops they saw him soaring past their windows.
"Soaring" would imply flight no? Plummeting seems like a better choice of words here.
"It's amazing. If he hit the pavement, it would've been worse," said building tenant Kim Courtney.
No shit Sherlock.

Yet another potential event for us to participate in at DooM, ATGATT roof jumping! Who's got a Dodge?!
