Why does this make me think of (some) of the NSP crowd? Don't get me wrong, I love NSP.

If you mean scooterists, sure. Scooter scenesters overlap with hipsters. Generally, though, hipsters aren't very mechanical so their typical favorite vehicles are the fixed-gear-bicycle and the hand-me-down Volvo. Some venture into mopeds, perhaps to graduate to cafe-racer motorcycles. Time marches on, and vintage scooters are becoming more of an adult interest and less of a youthful cheap thing.

I never hot the hipster hate. Feels like the modern version of the "you long hair hippie faggots", with less beatings, admittedly.

I think "hipster" is the new term for twntysomethings that are chronic underachievers with a bad attitude and a chip on their shoulder.

Hell, twenty odd years ago that could've been me. I was just a slacker/partier and didn't give a shit.

Perhaps some beatings are in order, young people just love being oppressed.

I guess it's that I know a lot of people who look like what you'd call a hipster but do not display any of the douchery commonly attributed to the clade. Perhaps I've never met the real Hipsters, but if I did I suspect they would be made of straw.

The biggest difference between "hipsters" and the scooterists of Not Summit Point is that you've met and interacted with them. If you hadn't, they'd still be fucking hipsters. Just like how we're all dangerous speeding stunting maniacs and outlaw biker scum to the squares.

Hahaha funny you should post that - they actually said it was meant to be a shameless tribute to that skit at the very end of the video.

I didn't get to the end, so I guess I'll cut them some slack. I was just thinking about how this video mocks hipsters for trying to act original by conforming, but is totally unoriginal in itself, which is ironic, which is in itself, a quality of hipsterism or something.

I'm kinda with Rolly. Making fun of hipsters is about as cool and cutting edge as being a hipster.

Whoops, powers of observation fail.

I'm sure we all have at least one thing in common with the song's dickheads.
People wearing city shoes with no socks should be killed on sight tho.
