You can buy one...that's made by one! Well, partly.
http://www.makerbot.com/

Cory Doctorow has written up a pretty interesting and believable thesis on how 3D printing will end up changing the economy, not to mention Disney World.
And it's available for free from the guys website:

Seriously the best book I read in ages and ages.

And the copying gets easier, also:
<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2XyKCFZxLTM&re ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2XyKCFZxLTM&re ... edded&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

It's all coming together, ya'all.
Not long till you can get that kind of CNC mill, maybe not with industrial durability, but suitable for hobbyist use, for under 1k.
I'd say within 10 years.
