sun rat school update

this semester has been off to a hellish start.
so many things: classes that don't meet my expectations, classes that are over my head, math (a category of hell unto itself), and a dearly loved classmate committing suicide.

and i am so sick of the idiotic german program here that i am on the verge of dropping it, but after this semester i can do so with grace and claim it as a minor. and if i go to russia next summer i will be done. with everything. fini.

so yeah. and i found a dream russian master's program in Cologne. but first i just have to perform the impossible feat of achieving near native fluency in both german and russian.

so if i'm not commenting around here, you know what i'm doing.

Hanging out with a bunch of Russians and Germans I would hope.

I am happy to hear your update!

Sorry everything's not going as it should, but I thought they built that sort of stuff into the curriculum so that you could be trained to always stay on your toes?

I hope you do get to go to Russia if that is what you would love.

Sorry I speak no German or Russian!

Best of luck to you!

Bloody hell. Good luck!

Here's an idea: beat on Golgo's Deutsch! He's out there on Skype.

Keep plugging away, Sunny. It's a tall order to learn Deutsch and Russki at the samme time--both arre extremely tough, and Krauts and Russkis being natural millenia-long adversaries, expect your two hemispheres to be pummeling eachother. Just saying.

When I went back to Deutschneyland last summer, by Deuutsch was real rusty, but it came up real quick. Living in Köln will put your German proficiency on steroids. So while you're there, you then will be hanging with all the other Russisch majors and tuning into whatever Russian channels you can get.

Have a Halver Hahn when you're there, washed down with some Kölsch. Good times there.

I admire what you're doing, Sunny. Keep it up!

One more thing: if you run into a Monika, you don't know me.

things have caught up to me, and in a not great way. was going to come to doom but got caught up in worrying over my granddad who had a fall earlier that week. of course he's fine. but all his shit is in order now, and it sucks major ass knowing that he is preparing to shuffle off his mortal coil. in a deliberate-like way. part of me is afraid to even leave town. and i'm an instant wreck when some unknown number shows up on the phone.

i'm dropping the french class i was taking for fun and the statistics class from the lowest depths of hell that i just don't fucking get. that leaves three russian classes and one german class. what happens next semester i have no idea.

i've worried myself into a mental paralysis. or something.

so i signed myself and my two remaining teens up for a martial arts class. hopefully i'll get my focus back. i've given my savage to my son and am looking for something new(er). he has the patience to tinker, and i don't right now.
