So that's what owning 9% of the world's proven oil reserves can buy you. Neat.

They never mentioned that this coaster hits buck-fitty making it the fastest roller-coaster in the world.

as for the trip idea, I bet a day at Yas Marina cost more than I make in a year.

Admission to Ferrari world is about 45 Euros / Day...I guess the trip and overnight stay would be the really expensive part. And I don't want to know what they'll be charging at the food stalls.

1,500 AED = $408

You have a really shitty job.

Wow, this isn't bad, I can take a Aston Martin for a thrashing for 950.00 AED = 258.652 USD

I guess it's like Disney, very affordable on the off season days. Still, a night at the hotel for the F1 weekend would be thousands of dollars.

I was pretty surprised at the prices, too.

I wonder what else is cheaper than we think over there.

I will ask my friend who just moved back from Oman. She used to production manage rally races and such over there. She would know.

From my buddy Sarah:

Not sure what the Aston Martin track days cost there, but maybe someone else who visits my page can share the details? I think it's AED 950 for like 10 laps or something? I think?

Abu Dhabi IS pretty expensive for stuff like Hotels, food, and transportation. You can do it on the cheap with good planning, especially if you like Indian and Pakistani food, and don't need to bask in 5 star luxury. Not to mention the ticket cost to get there. The track is quite a ways from the city, so unless you are staying at one of the hotels on the island you need a rental car or you are at the mercy of the overworked, underpaid, borderline crazy taxis.

Yas is an awesome facility, super luxurious. if you get the chance, you should totally go.

Still, I'm guessing that most of us could get around that track in about three minutes, and your drive time is broken up into two different sessions with instruction in between. If you do it four times throughout the day, that works out to 8 fifteen minute sessions, which is on par with a lot of track days. So for $1000, you still get a pretty respectable price on race track instruction in a fucking sick car.
I'm willing to bet that the cost goes down somewhat if you do an all day deal, too.
