BTW, I have a bottle of He'brew in the fridge ready to be cracked open tomorrow night in honor of all UTMC Heebs.

That is all.

Just gave my sister (who's in Egypt) tips on making a menorah out of stuff laying around her apartment. Can't exactly run out and buy one.

I ran this across a coworker who's Egyptian Coptic Christian, and he says Red's words are no joke. Seriously. AZ, your sister probably is smart enough to know, but my coworker says she needs to be VERY careful about whom she shares her Jewish heritage with. We all Know on the business and political level, Egypt and Israel have a pretty good relationship, a damn good one for the region, but on the streets is entirely different.

Again, I'm sure she's aware of that, and has the common sense, but he said she sho0uldn't even bring it up jokingly because there are enoutgh religious nuts in every city and town there.

Fucking people.

No kidding! I'd light a hanukkiah there but I'd make sure all the freaking shades were down!

Not that it even compares but the first year we lived in our house, I was wondering if some river redneck was gonna toss a brick through our window.

Doubt the river necks would have the cultural awareness to make the proper connections with 1 to 9 lit candles in a window. But I don't blame you for taking the paranoid route at first.

People amaze me. I'm a sports catholic (tend to only show up for the big events), but I LOVE Hannukah. In addition to many, nearly most of my buddies being Jewish, the food is better and the traditions waaaay more family oriented and rooted in something. My one friend's family hannukah party is second only to Christmas eve at the in-laws for importance in the Rench household.

You (and the other Ootmiks) are welcome here for our Passover Party. Good food and short/bumbled seder! April 19th 2011.

Really?

REALLY?

Look Rench, everything else you wrote jibes just fine with me, but the food part, I must, with all due respect, call shenanigans.

I guess you haven't spent Christmas with a bunch of Mexicans--I know you have them up in Chicago. Look them up. Tamales, tacos, rellenos, cerveza. . . [insert drooling face emoticon]

But hey, it's Hanukkah, and let it be a good one--as good as the He'brew Messiah Bolds this Goy had a couple nights ago--absolutely farging delicious--a full, yummy, dark ale. Waaaay better than any Mexican beer I've had on any Xmas, with a respectful nod of approval to Negra Modelo.

Any way,, thanks to the Messiah Bold, Menorahs weren't the only thing getting lit that night. I recommend to all to incorporate Messiah Bold into the dreidel spin--somehow--someone--for the love of all that's necessary.

Happpy Hanukkah again, one and all.

Too bad it's not sorghum based, can't do the wheat/barley brews. If Mexican breakfast is anything like Christmas, mmmmmmm.... tasty!
