The old argument espoused here that if everyone was vegetarian there would be enough food to end world hunger because it takes far more agricultural resources to raise livestock than crops is completely specious though. There is already more than enough food to feed everyone in the world. People go hungry for economic and logistical reasons, and those don't go away if we stop eating delicious animals.
