Wikipedia has this guy classified as "Steampunk Hiphop."
I don't even know what to do with that, but hey, it's catchy!

The best part is that there actually is a Mr. B, and that this actually IS a rap battle!

I'm really enjoying these. It's been fun poking around on the youtube and seeing these guys at work. Between these and the other recent Irish one (if you need a roid I've a horse out side!) its fun to see how rap & hip hop musical style can be filtered through other perspectives. There's really no need for a battle- these guys have totally different styles, but the results can only be entertaining. As far as 'battling' goes, I would put my money on the professor in a contemporary style head-to-head, but I would back the B if the challenge was to entertain a room rhythmically- and without electricity. I hope we hear more from both.

Geek Music Debate: Mr. B The Gentleman Rhymer vs. Professor Elemental

Respectfully, I must disagree with that analysis. To me Mr B looks like your average pompous café twat, not a Victorian gentleman. Elemental dresses the part.

if the battle is for 'most steampunk' or 'most victorian' then the professor wins it. Mr B doesn't have time travel trousers. I maintain that the prof. would likely win a fast, freestyle 'battle' but that Mr B has enough musical skill that he could probably perform on the street and make money off it.

I don't extend MrB much credit for originality, at least for Straight Out of Surrey or Chap Hop History. Weird Al does parody much better. MrB's foundational grooves are weak as well.
Elemental is much more original as far as I can determine.
Another cup of tea, dear?
