Need some help scoring inlaw brownie points!

Anyone have a really good quality photo scanner/printer I can use for about half an hour?

My Mother in Law is trying to get copies made of some of HER in-law's wedding photos from 'way back in the day, and apparently no one wants to reproduce them because they are old studio photos. The studio that they got the photos from is long since gone, so she can't order copies from them (or so she tells me). So - if I can get some copies made for her, I score heap big brownie points. This would be a good thing, for a variety of reasons.

Anyone have this kind of equipment I can borrow or even rent cheap some evening this week? I'd be eternally grateful.

no problem at all.

well, maybe one small one: i'm 1700 mile east of you...

last time i had to copy a number of old photos, i gave up on the scanner as too slow and too much work between scans. i did it the old fashioned way with a camera on a copy stand

but now flatbed scanners have optical dust removal and cool stuff like that (once reserved for color film only). and a $200 flatbed can now get close to the resolution of my nikon coolscan 8000 film scanner...

i probably digitize a dozen prints everyday at work, i couldnt imagine doing it on a copy stand again.

i've got scanners, but like 12ci, i am 1700 miles east....

The bonus with the scanner is that you can digitize your butt without fear of burning it.

.... too many holiday parties at print shops for me maybe :(
