Well I have been reading posts for almost three months now.
Just wanted to say hey to you all. I will post a recent pic in the
beard thread soon. Still wish I could grow one. Hope you all
are doing well! My life pretty much sucks once again. Kids are
going to kill me. No, not really the stress and smoking are
what's going to do it. Laughs. Just wanted to say hi. Take

I smoked for 20+ years. By the end I fucking hated it.

Yup. I quit on March 21st this year. Smoked almost 2 packs the day before. Woke up the next morning as an ex-smoker. It really is just a choice, not an easy one but still a choice.

Chantex, I've known several lifetime smokers who used it and quit within days. And on the plus side you get some seriously fucked up dreams from what they told me.

I found myself in a fairly deep conversation in the last 48 hours with a mom who said she raised her kids thinking always to herself, "What can I do to make today better than yesterday?" I'm still absorbing and processing this in my own head and really liking the philosophy. My hubby and I have set our new quit date (started again after over a year without smoke). My thoughts, strength, and distraction go out to you.

I'm reluctant to chime in here. But, that's never stopped me before.

Dude, smoke all you want. Sounds like tobacco is one of your lesser worries right now.

Booze, on the other hand, seems to be leading you towards poor decision making. Perhaps going dry for awhile may provide you with some clarity for moving forward with life. I know most of my bad decisions are a result of too much of the fire water. Just something to think about.

We're just a bunch of pixels on the web man. Time to focus on the brick and mortar, flesh and blood real world. Make real world decisions to improve your life. The answer is unlikely found at the bottom of a bottle of Jack. I know, I've looked into the bottom of a lot of those bottles trying to find it.

I want to run for mayor of this crazy little town can anyone help?

Yes I know it is stupid, but the mayor is an idiot! I want to take him down. Any help or suggestions are appreciated!

A few things, EZ, and I'm no political consultant, but an involved voter:

Identify the specific problems of the current mayor. What specificallly is he/she doing thhat is not for the welfare of your city?

What are your ideas? How can you bring positive change. You'll need specifics. It would be a good idea to be present at city meetings, especially city council.

Credentials used to be a priority, but nowadays, being a political outsider can actuallly be an advantage over someone who has the traditional "qualifications." But you'll have to have a working knowledge, even as an outsider, of the political process, as well as city-level finances.

You'll probably benefit from some core supporters, and an advisor. Don't ask me how to get one and how much $$ is involved. Hell, if you find like-minded people in your burg, you could alll volunteer your strengths.

I just read a story about a mayor in North, maybe South Carolina, not sure,, but he's llike 26, making him one of the coountry's youngest mayors. He said hhe got elected by knocking on just about evvery front door (homes and businesses) in his town. Now he's mayor.

Stupid idea, but someone needs to take this guy down.

His idea of a good Friday night is to let a couple thousand people
come into our town and drink as much as they want and drive home
afterwords. Pretty damn stupid in my opinion.

I am not against drinking or having a good time. Trust me. Just sick
and tired of the Harley guys and gals and the vehicle drivers acting like idiots.

Seen it too many times.

I always walk down to the river front and walk home. I am lucky as I have never
got a public intox! It would be my luck to get in trouble over all these
people that travel many miles just to drink!

Bring this up withh your neighbors, chheck out the crime logs in your local rag, and if your cops are approachable, askk them about the effects of these yahoos coming into your town.

Lotsa good things start at grassroots.

Given up on the mayor idea. It does suck because the guy in office has been there too long. Oh well.

This is the latest pic of me. Got to shave everything tomorrow as I have a job lined up. After that I think I can let it grow again.
