I never would have guessed this about myself.

I've been waiting my entire life to ride sportbikes on a track. Seriously, it's been a lifelong dream.

Now that I've done it a few times, though, it turns out that I think I prefer riding dirt bikes in the woods.

I've got a track day tomorrow on my CBR (and another on Friday) and my feelings are surprisingly "Meh" about the whole ordeal.
This isn't to say that I don't care, and am not going to have an absolute freaking blast, because I KNOW that I am. It's just that I'm way less excited about it than I always am to go out and play in the forest.

It's like finally bedding the supermodel you've been after, and realizing you are really in love with the funny looking girl with the glasses.

That I was too tall for it and didn't fit on it?
Yes.

Then I stopped thinking of motos as daily transport, and just rode it fast and for fun. Then it was a hoot.

Dunno. Sometimes I look at my bike and think, "meh." Or I look at the RD I'm going over and go, "harumph." Then, other days I blow off what I'm doing and ride/work on them. Maybe you blow hot and cold like lots of other folks. Its no big deal, you'll get over it and ease into a rhythm of riding/not riding on the track or whatever. I hope!
It's important to have balance. Full-on anything doesn't last forever.

Then again maybe the track really isn't your cup of tea. Go with what thrills you, don't worry about others opinions. Girls with glasses can screw just as vigorously as the legendary redhead of lore, so if that's what you prefer there's no shame in it. I will admit that part of me is irked that you have access to both options and have the luxury of making such a choice, whereas it takes almost two hours for me to get to dirt, and four to a real track and I cannot afford to go to either anyway, so I placate myself with commuting on two as often as I can.
Ride what/where/when you feel it the most.
