Always thought this was one of his weaker efforts. Kind of like "Another Rides the Bus" by Wierd Al. Its early, not competely developed talent.

Well I get that the whole thing is a parody, my point is much like Wierd Al's early work it has a certain lack of polish evident in his later songs like
Average Regular Normal Guy.

A lack of polish can be endearing, but IMHO doing so intentionally pushes the boundary of cheapening the effort. Not necessarily being lazy, but just not caring for the sake of not caring, like leaving your baby in the car but keeping the car running. You obviously don't care enough not to do what's wrong but you care enough to try and get away with it.
