I wonder if someone just messed up defining the speed of light.

That won't be it. This is mind-smashingly difficult to get one's head around, but the speed of light is constant in all frames of reference. What that means is if you and I set off in opposite directions, going at almost the speed of light, we would NOT appear to each other to be moving apart at faster than the speed of light, and indeed, we wouldn't be.piccini9 wrote:Maybe they forgot to take into account that we are already moving at the speed of light as the universe expands away from (or into) itself?*

Except that now we think it has slightly increased over time, thus making time travel possible...rolly wrote:the speed of light is constant in all frames of reference.

I don't know, othjer than you'll be going backwards, and you'll be younger than you are right now. Eventually you'll degenerate into Justin Beaver and then I'll just have to shoot you.Rev wrote:So my question for you smart people is: When will my motorcycle go faster than the speed of light, and how old will I be when I get there?
