about 35ish miles from me. so of course we didn't get any chemical whatnot, but the particulate matter wreaked a couple hours of havoc and gave my and my daughter some horrid headaches today(we both have mild asthma).

That's what they call "incorrect rig placement" in the trade.

Today, there's a guy in a white shirt sitting in a very small office with one-to-three chiefs; and a blue-shirt driver who is gonna hear about it EVERY day up to and including at his retirement party.

Chemical plant fires give me the willies.
Chemical storage facility fires aren't much better.

You really have to hand it to the industry, though. There they are, huge complicated machines handling godawful amounts of horrible substances, undergoing reactions that need to be carefully regulated, yet a Bhopal or Flixborough is a fairly rare occurence, considering the thousands of plants throughout the world.
