I'm pretty sure it's a Hayabusa done up in old Gulf Racing Livery.
There's a bicycle racing team around here that wears the same colors.

I gotta say I've always loved the Gulf Oil livery colors. Its so anti-race car.
I wonder if that wheel fairing serves a real purpose, besides making tire pressure checks impossible.

Prolly set up for drags, used to break the start line sensor.

That thing looks really cool. I'm sure it handles great with that spoked rear wheel being held on by a swingarm with a hinge in the middle.

Gulf Livery is all about race cars

That fairing is an aerodynamic aid, implying that this is a LSR machine

I was at a combined car/bike track day once, and there was a GT40 in the car A group.
It got meatballed for blowing somewhere in the neighborhood of 125 dB.
When it went past, there was no way of carrying on your conversation pretty much anywhere in the pits; you just had to wait it out as it went down the straight.

Heh... I'm wearing ear plugs if the 917 is any louder than 125 dB.
The upper limit for MotoGP regs is 130, and that's just flippin painful.

Oddly, they don't seem to be sponsored by Gulf.
Does Gulf Oil still exist? I dunno...
