I would not want to check the valve clearances on this thing

This could be an all night affair.

Yeah, but pushrods? Really? I mean who is he trying to impress with that technology?
Plus, I hear he's coming out with a 2cc big bore kit next spring. I'd wait for that.
(Seriously though, holy fuck that's awesome.)

How many cc does that have? Doesn't even look like two or so per cylinder, at the most...so it's not even suitable for a scooter.
Truly, and effort with no practical application while being beautiful and obviously well thought out at the same time.
I applaud.

I wouldn't be able to stop there. I'd build an RC boat for it. Better yet, I'd build three more of them and build an RC PT boat. With torpedoes. That I could launch, that would be capable of blowing up other RC boats, like those gay sailboats and stuff. Then I'd build a cruiser, and perhaps an Iowa-class battleship, and planes, and little tiny people and I would RULE THE POND.

This is probably the most awesome you tube vid I've seen in a long time. Epic Win! Actually, beyond that, a thing of beauty.

Yeah, so that was pretty goddammed amazing. I mean, who builds an engine without using a torque wrench? That guy is crazy.

much as I love it, I wouldn't bother putting it in an rc boat, as it produces the same amount of hp as a pinwheel.
yes, it is the coolest fucking pinwheel ever, but it isn't an engine.

Is nobody going to challenge me on this?
Seriously, I want to believe. But unless it is the worlds quietest diesel(there is no ignition system), I don't think it is a real engine.

Yeah, I was wodnering about the ignition thing myself. How would those tiny little spark plugs not glow red hot everytime they spark?
I think this is a motor, as in electrically powered to rotate movable parts.
In fact, fuck this guy, thinking he did something totally awesome. He's nothing but a fraud with a mini-lathe. Christ, he doesn't even have the common courtesy to put real words in his video.

Oh, crap, didn't notice you were asking a serious question. Definitely not a real engine, it runs off compressed air. It's a replica of some sort of marine engine built for a museum.

Not exactly a serious question. I just got disappointed, because I briefly found myself believing it was a real gas burning engine. Maybe everybody else knew it was compressed air from the start, but my brain actually skipped over a few details as he was putting the thing together and I let myself momentarily believe it was actually burning something.
Don't get me wrong, I think it is amazing workmanship and love it.

Of course the Germans have the gas version.

Don't feel bad, I thought Christopher Walken was running for president and that Erik Buell was starting Bomber Motorcycles.

Sounds exactly like something I'd do. After putting everything all together, on precisely hour 1220, I see all the gaskets on the far corner of the workbench.
