She's been an idol of mine for some time in pole.

This is one of my personal favourites of hers:

I look at that and I think to myself, "Torn rotator cuff, pulled hamstrings, neck injury from falling, broken nose, carpal tunnel... No, I'm not going to try any of that."

Seriously that looks difficult on both a physical and technical level. I consider myself to be in pretty good shape but I could never do that. I'd look ridiculous in that outfit.

Why not Olympic?

Easily as athletic as any other gymnastic event. No more overtly sexual than figure skating.

Extremely impressive (and hot).

I agree that stripping should be an Olympic sport, as should MMA and several other things. I also think that most team sports shouldn't be in the Olympics and that the "World Series" of baseball should allow teams from other countries to compete. As the world gets smaller and things become better defined I feel like things that require the individual talent of someone to be pitted against the talent of another person is really the true way to determine the "best" at something and the Olympics should broaden their acceptance, yes there is a line, we shouldn't have the olympic event "Most snakes you can fit into your mouth", that is Guinness Book territory there. I'm talking a develop-able skill with a focus on pushing the limits of the human body, not genetic mutation (although starting with a genetic mutation that makes you specialized at something is a good start, like Mike Tyson or Michael Phelps) or inability to maintain hygene. (i.e. "worlds longest fingernails) The "World Series of Poker" is the only organization that I've seen that actually understands that World Champion and American National Champion are not the same thing.

Fascinating athletics. Yep Olympic quality. Just another form of gymnastic. The music is as important as it is with ice skating. Can't wait. Right, maybe in ten years. It's a generation change sort of thing. Hope it happens.

My dad once told me, when he found me gazing longingly at women's olympic gymnastics competitors,
"Son, it doesn't go in when she bends like that."
Either he was telling me something about my Mom, or I resent him all the more for discouraging me from joining the Marine Corps like he did.

In terms of Olympic competition, I like Magnus do not care for the idea of a team sport except in terms of sports where every team member does the same thing for a cumulative score (curling comes to mind, as it often does).
However, as much as I can appreciate the athleticism, talent and dedication it takes for a top-shelf gymnastics display, despite the lack of vagino-penile alignment, it along with figure skating and any other competition in which the outcome is judged rather than empirically determined is flawed and shouldn't be included.
Veni Vedi Vechi does not say anything about being "technically correct".

Especially when drinking. Personally, I'm a fan of keeping team sports in that they test coordination and communication as much as physical excellence. I dig that stuff; the phrase "Olympic-level teamwork" does not strike my ear as weird.
