Jalopnik sank their teeth into this one.

I myself am a pretty cautious person and would not wreck a Lamborghini in the first hour of my ownership nor the second, but, especially on sport tires in winter temps, I can't say I might not slide quite expensively into a field in the sixth.

True, you'd still be reading the owners manual...

Bah, it was an '08 model anyway. Probably lost 40% of its value when it left the dealer's lot.

$100000 in taxes? That's some prize.

Yeah, that's a pretty tough "win" for a car that would be difficult to unload in this market and under his circumstances. Frankly, I'm surprised they let him have the car without paying the taxes first.

I didn't know anything about his attempt to sell it to Leno. That's going to make for some tough sailing with the insurance company. The valuation of the car seems (well, is) excessive.

Sucks when you can't even afford to be given a Lamborghini. I guess the old saying is true:

"The wanting is often better than the having"

Keep in mind that he is a professional driver.
I never drove a Lambo, but I drove trucks for a few years and I think that they are two very different things.

OR, if he was a professionnal speed racer trying to wreck it, he wouldn't just scratch the passenger door. I mean, I never drove a Lambo, but I have a pretty good idea of what to do to wreck one and it does not include driving as slow as 50mph.

High retail on a '08 Murcielago spyder is $231,000.

Oh, and ABS/AWD/Traction control or no - they are easy to wreck in low traction conditions, especially if you've never driven anything like it before. 631hp is a handful, maybe add in summer tires in cold weather and you've got the worlds' most expensive hockey puck.
