Depending on the level of subversion within the writing team behind that film, Lincoln will, in the final battle against the vampire overlord, be bitten, and the vampireness will come through one evening, as he is visiting the theatre. His loyal sidekick saves Mrs. Lincoln from vampire Lincoln's attack and is then faced with the world finding out the truth about Lincoln and, worse, vampires. So, he yells "Sic semper tyrannis!", jumps onto the stage and succesfully, by taking the blame, makes it look like a political assasination.
Or we get introduced to the evil vampire mind controllers who set up the confederation when their arch-enemy got elected, thus having a convenient package of legend letting the confederates off the hook for being slave-owners and traitors to boot. It was the vampire, see! They was innocent!

My husband just finished the book - it's 3rd down on my pile of "to read next" list. I'm sure we'll see the movie, as he loved the book.

Sarah Michelle Gellar, Eliza Dushku, Kristi Swanson and Wesley Snipes are all cooler than that President. And he wasn't even good at his day job.

Because real history is boring and may not be conducive to our current socio-economic climate.

Because Pride and Prejudice and Zombies won't be out for awhile, and if you're going to make a vampire film it's better to have an axe wielding Lincoln than vampires that sparkle in the sun.

There's all kinds of stuff we didn't learn about Lincoln.

I'll probably read the book. I'm boycotting "bullet time" movies.
