I remember reading this as a short story not too long ago and this is a premise I'd like to see explored further, maybe as a prequel showing the excited alien researchers finding another sentient species and only slowly working out that it's a burger.

Of course, the thought occurs, were these aliens in any way like humans, they wouldn't expunge the records and walk away. They'd try to work out how to make the meat work for them to control their machines and do menial labor.

Let's meet the meat!

This thread makes me want to become vegan. Yet THE BBQ THREAD makes me want to become a straight up carnivore. I'm so conflicted.

Fear not: once I get the big smoker done, I'll also grill more veggies. (Ya know, since I'll have one grill for smoking, and the kettle grill for grilling.)

Come to think of it, here's one for the meat vs. veggie debate.
Did vegetables ever write symphonies, fly to the moon or discover black holes?
Hell no, meat did that!
So I'll stick with meat.
