Well . . . . technically, there is nothing technically false with the story. The Onion did make that declaration, and the Chinese paper only states that fact. Still pretty funny.
Not as bad as
Iran's news agency.

And you just KNOW, don't you, that if someone wrote a joke like that into a serious novel or screenplay, anything that isn't outright satire or maybe The West Wing, people everywhere would complain that it's not credible, no actual news organization would make a dumb mistake like that.
