Wut to do in NOLA?

My special lady friend (i.e. my Wife, as of 36hrs ago) & I will be travelling to Nawlinz the last week of March. What, pray tell, should we do while we're there?

+1 for begniets and coffee at cafe du monde
Wander around the french quarter, look at shit, ride a streetcar through the garden district, eat lots of food (dunno if you're up for rolling the dice on locally sourced seafood though, what with the oil spill and all), drink lots of booze, get a go cup for walking around while drinking

i was never that comfortable at the Cafe du Mond; I prefer the Cafe Beignet on Royal Street. say hello to the cat.
if you're into historical stuff, there are a number of museums and old house tours, including some interesting plantations out of town, along the river.
ride the ferry to Algiers.
get a stylish chapeau at Meyer's
stalk J T Nesbitt
go to mass at the cathedral
oh, and congrats on the new life partner.

Some years back (post katrina) I was walking through new orleans at night and came upon an open garage door leading into an otherwise empty fair size cavern - containing an odd, flat sidecar rig and a questionable looking formerly submerged Lincoln. Some guy came out and we shot the bikes n' cars shit for about a half hour. Turns out, that's JT. Nice guy. Very talented, very entertaining to talk to.12ci wrote:

I stalked Nesbitt last time I was there. Nice guy. Had some cool ideas that, given my state of intoxication and my sheer ignorance of bike physics, I couldn't grasp all that well. I think it rubbed him the wrong way. In any event, got to see the gas powered car, his bimota, ferrari and of course his latest bike concept. We swigged some whisky while he showed us his stuff. Nice guy, just wish I had been a more appropriate (read sober) guest.
