I dunno...but I think if a major clothing brand starts using it in TV ads, it's no longer "hip". It's, at best, on the hip end of the mainstream, but no longer a sub-culture thing. Because it's no longer so much sub- as pop-.
Now, I wonder what will come next. Fedora hats and early 90s minivans?

I wonder if they found a stunt-woman (casting call: Caucasian female 5'10" 119lbs must be able to ride vintage motorcycle please send picture of legs) or if they just shaved down a skinny stuntman and handed him the strappy heels.

How do you know?

Also, I truly enjoy girls doing squid things, like insufficient gear. Terrible idea, but nice to look at. The stig probably wouldn't sell as much lacoste though.

That is the very unavoidable Ruby Pavillon helm... errhh...fashion statement.
In its white St Honore finish, it's only slightly under $800

$800 to get your face wiped off. Nice. I've been to places that'd cost you more for the plane ticket to get there than the helmet, but at least the face removal would be free.

Why is it that she looks around warily, as if embarrassed to ride that motorcycle, yet can confidently wear those dreadful heels?

I think you've answered your own question. Perhaps someone, the director or maybe the girl herself, thought I hope no serious motorcyclist see this...

If someone else said that, I'd smile and nod in agreement.
When someone with your job says that, I get a little scared...

Those helmets are ugly, retro-70s, poorly ventilated crap.

I'll keep my Shoei RF1100, thanks.
