i took five classes this last semester because i'm just stupid that way.

anyway the russian prof (for russian translation) gave me a link and told me to translate the website. i fiddled around on it, messing with different programs, but got it done. i even got the pulldown menus to work offline and everything was all "amazing" due to this drive i have to get all the details to work. then i zipped up the offline site and emailed it to him. turns out all he wanted was freaking pdfs of the pages uploaded to my portfolio. which i've now done, of course.
:x
the shit i did that he will never see. makes me so glad i never have to deal with this professor again.

stick a fork in me, i'm done.

Add it to your portfolio, and show it off with pride when opportunities arise. It won't be forgotten. Somewhere in the universe there is a book of sketches I created for a drafting class in college that I ace'd that represented the best freehand drawings I have ever done. I wish I still had it.
It's not wasted effort.

I'm trying to think of some way to get extra credit for extra work in that situation, but it's not coming, unless you can somehow convince that prof to write you some form of letter of recommendation that specifically mentions how you'd rather risk your health than just do the bare minimum. Or get some form of written thing from him that attests to what you did, so you can show that off as an official part of your vita.

i ended up giving the portfolio link of all the pdf files to a former classmate who now works (in moscow) at the parent company (which is how my professor got the idea for the project). i didn't ask him to, but he is sending them to his boss.

if they use any of my translation work, damned if i won't ask for appropriate credit on the live website. it's supposedly a widely known company over there so it'd be worth it if i could get the positive exposure...
