I love Chris Craft boats. I'm a land lubber and don't know shit about what it takes to own or maintain such a craft, but rumor has it "if you own a wooden boat, you have a job for life." That said, I love this boat despite not having any place to use it (no heat exchangers means no ocean from what I'm told):

No heat exchanger? Isn't that what the water that comes out the two little tailpipes is for?

But it's a looker, true enough! The sort of thing Burton would have picked up Liz from the pier with as the papparazzo try and snap a pic...

I'm glad someone owns and maintains that, and I'm glad it isn't me.

Sweet jumpin' jebus! That Chrissy is so beautiful I can barely contain myself. I too love the Chris Crafts. A while ago I owned a 1950 42ft Bullnose Catalina. It was a wonderful vessel and as a result, I can strip and varnish brightwork to a high gloss with nary a bubble or fisheye to be found. As satisfying as it is, the work never stops, ever, because by the time you get done, it's time to start all over again.

I've got a boat-fund going again now, 'cause it's too beautiful here to not be out on the water, but this time it's all Tupperware all the time. No time to take care of a proper wood boat, but recently I've run across a couple of smaller Chrissys, Thompsons and Trojans (28'-32') that have made me raise an eyebrow for a moment, but then I remember.........

Have always harbored a deep lust for one of these since I saw one on a lake in my youth.
