Hm, now ... I wonder why they took all of those photos right in front of the big POLICE IMPOUND LOT signage ...

I've made it a point to never watch that show.

it's ok really, unless you are uncomfortable with stories about white guys trying to walk like tough rappers and still trying to look like kurt cobain and babies and menopause and the difficulties of running a business while maintaining an erection as a busy middle age man dating a grand mother, which I am so I thought it just sucked. I'd rather watch anything bikes involved.

I used to work at that shop.... They've done several movie/tv bikes over the last couple decades.

I love SOA. So, I have a cousin that went to MIT. While he was there I was asking him all kinds of stupid questions (MIT is likely the most difficult school to gain admission to in the entire world). One of my questions was "what is the most popular tv show on campus?" His response . . . WWE wrestling. I was shocked. Seriously, staged fighting between Venice Beach rejects in panties? Yep. His theory as to why was: Think about it, these are guys (yep, mostly men) who think up solutions to unbelievably complex problems all day long. The last thing they want to do is think. They want mindless entertainment.
That is SOA to me. Fun, silly, graphic, comically ridiculous entertainment that, like a kid dropping an ice cream cone . . . makes me wince and giggle at the same time. Now, where's my "cut"?

It's a soap opera with bikers. Like game of thrones is a soap opera with swords n' sandals.
So, the bikes... Bartels tarts up a 2010 Dyna Street Bob and voila! a $10,500 bike becomes a $25,000 bike. At least the customer will know there's nothing else like it out there, for that ridiculous markup.
Oh wait, that's 1 of 100 bikes advertising the show. Oops!
There may be a sucker born every minute but only Bartels will know if there's 100 suckers out there with 25Gs burning a hole in their pockets. They'd better build those bikes fast, before the show ends and is forgotten.

Oh, I have no doubt there are.... there are plenty of wannabes out there with disposable income in that range. I worked in that world for 10 years, two of those at Bartels.

I'm not alone!
RedQueen and I started it a few weeks ago and were "meh" at first but it grew on us. It's junk TV and that's what I need after a day of work and helping with the wee one.

Been watching since season 1.

I figure its like firemen liking the movie Backdraft, or my dad who loved anything in the 80's like Commando because of his Army time. It's an over the top caricature of something you enjoy, to the point of silliness, but you still have some connection to it. That's my excuse anyway.
