Now that I have wiped the hot chocolate off my screen, which a moment ago was spraying out of my nose, I can say, we are not amused.

National turkey: "I'm going to Disneyland!"

Associated Press

ANAHEIM, Calif. - A pair of lucky turkeys will receive the traditional pardon from President Bush on the White House lawn Tuesday and then fly - in style - to Disneyland.

Following the ceremony, the 35-pound National Turkey and its alternate will be given a police escort to a Washington-area airport, placed in first class airplane seats and be whisked off to sunny Southern California.

They'll be part of Disneyland's holiday display and serve as honorary Grand Marshals for the theme park's annual Thanksgiving Day Parade, according to the White House Web site.

Afterward, they'll spend the rest of their lives at a Disneyland ranch.

National Thanksgiving turkeys and their alternates normally retire at a farm in Virginia.
