Because the board got shutdown again because of a load of database, I had to fettle with the settings again.
As part of that, the server no longer stores what topics you have or haven't read.
IT IS STILL RECORDED!
But now, that information lives in a delicious cookie, rather than the forum database.

Upside: this should reduce the load of database.
Downside: if you use multiple devices to access the board, or you reject delicious cookies, you won't always have that information cookie. But the New Posts feature should take care of that.

Some unpleasant miscreant was firing incessant database queries at our server, which forced the Legal Department of our hosting company, via their Abuse subdivision, to shut us down. No I have none.
All I can do it button the hatches, and tighten up a few things. Such as time limits on how long you may take to compose a post and hit Debauch! As of 24/01/10, I've set that at 30 minutes for now.

Yes. But there's only so much the Administerrerrerr can do to keep this place running.

Yeah, but as far as I know it's kinda hard to wheelie parachute through somebody's neighborhood.

Oh wait, I actually have no idea what I'm talking about. I just had to make that wise crack.

Ouch!!

Best wishes for a fast recovery!!!

I am really sad to hear about the awesome summer plans all fuxxored. Maybe with a speedy recovery, you can make it a fall trip when the kiddies are back in school and the roads are less crowded.

Good luck, man.

And I think we have to have a talk with High Kommand about all of this insubordination re: standing order regarding not crashing.

I'm just curious as to why you have a bra on your harness...

Silly boys, that's no bra-It's a slider. The sliders soul purpose is to aid in slowing down the opening of the parachute during deployment. The advent of the slider is among the most important in skydive history, without it, the canopy would open hard enough to cause injury. After the opening sequence is through, it just flops around and makes a bunch of noise. I typically roll it up and strap it down to the container to keep out of the way of my head and cut down on wind resistance.

That was a pretty slick way to justify tying a bra to your chute.

No shit. Sliders. That's what my wife's bra turns into when I'm wantin some--just slide it right off.

But why did you manly jumpers revert to using brassiers to slow the chute deployment? Not too intimidating to the enemy seeing the 101st dropping down on them with pastel blue bras floating over their heads. Guess it's better than having a pair of skivvies waving above you though.
