Because the board got shutdown again because of a load of database, I had to fettle with the settings again.
As part of that, the server no longer stores what topics you have or haven't read.
IT IS STILL RECORDED!
But now, that information lives in a delicious cookie, rather than the forum database.

Upside: this should reduce the load of database.
Downside: if you use multiple devices to access the board, or you reject delicious cookies, you won't always have that information cookie. But the New Posts feature should take care of that.

You have a Honda already. If you get a Kawasaki you'll become an asshole fucktard and a hole will rip in the fabric of space-time. It's pretty fucking awesome though. Go for it.

Alright, you should buy that Z. But, only if your committed to relegating the stock exhaust to the scrap.

Take off the stock exhaust, wrap it carefully in some kind of rust proofing material, (cosmoline?) and ,or put in the attic.
Someday it will be worth something, I can't imagine that most people don't take that thing off and lose it. It is pretty bad.

You did go buy it already, right?

It's a decent price. You might wanna snag it up.

On a side note: I think it was the wrong replacement for the ZRX as Kawasaki's large displacement "naked" bike here in the US. It just doesn't have the "character" a Rex has.

I disagree, I think it is dead-fucking sexay. As a disclaimer, I have never ridden either a ZRX or a Z1000.

All that having been said, go buy it, what do you want to hear from us?

Maybe I'm biased from owning one but I think that your out of your mind. the ZRX is a great bike but the Z1000 is more mental and handles better. It also feels like it weighs about 300 pounds less.

I didn't much care for the pipes when I bought mine but they kind of grew on me after awhile.

Somebody needs to grab that thing, They will not regret it.

I'm sure it handles better and has a few other advantages over the ZRX. Still, speaking from a personal standpoint, I'd take a Rex any day.

OK here goes: are you looking for one of those? is that your target price? If not, then forget it. You already have two big-but-not-too-big, sporty-but-not-a-racer, eccentric-but-not-a-masochist all-around-sporty machines in your stable. How many all-rounders do you need? If you're going to have a stable full of bikes (a valid and beautiful lifestyle choice) why not have more specialized ones? Also, ask yourself if you have the 3 large burning a hole in your pocket. Surely there's some upgrade for your other bikes, or long trip or riding school, that you've been putting off that you could spend it on, without bringing another wave of beaurocratic crap (titles and insurance and inspections) into your life.

Aside from that- hey, motorcycles are jangle-to-the-platz and you will have a lot of fun with it if you go for it.

Pattio, fucking voice of reason. The man just didn't have a kid and its time be as selfish as possible.

Though, seriously, for all the reasons you've mentioned, i try not to "shop" when i'm not looking for something specific. of course, i'm almost always offering to help my friends "find" that certain bike or piece of kit. I try not to shop, like a coke head tries not to snort rails, but everytime is exceptional.
