Because the board got shutdown again because of a load of database, I had to fettle with the settings again.
As part of that, the server no longer stores what topics you have or haven't read.
IT IS STILL RECORDED!
But now, that information lives in a delicious cookie, rather than the forum database.

Upside: this should reduce the load of database.
Downside: if you use multiple devices to access the board, or you reject delicious cookies, you won't always have that information cookie. But the New Posts feature should take care of that.

Hello my fellow cultists! Greetings from Austin, Texas!

New to the group, new to riding. I just got back from my first 1,000 miles and I am loving every second of it.

Looking forward to contributing as much as I can!

I did 1431 just the other day. I decided it was a good idea to ride to Lago Vista to get metric bolts for some highway bars I have. (turns out the bars dont fit. Grr).

Havent ridden much further than that, but my friends and I will probably do a run out to Johnson City Saturday.

Lovin every second of it!

No worries! Ride your own ride, I couldn't care less that someone frowns over my bike. I love it and that's all that matters.

I don't hate motorcycles, and I didn't frown.

I just don't like (most) cruisers (Jaeger's Speedy being the obvious exception, as it actually corners quite nicely).

This is a sad face: :(

This is a hrm face: :/

Regardless, you're still new to riding. Chances are you'll get bored with the fake Harley and trade it in for something more capable.

You sound EXACTLY like my buddy, who kept trying to get me on an SV-650 as a first bike.

Sport bikes are nice. They have a lot of power. They are fast, quick and can turn on a dime.

I wanted a cruiser.

I'm not planning on burning up the turns. I'm not going to take it on the track (though I might just do that to spite you.)

In short, I'm happy riding what I ride. Sorry it doesn't meet your expectations, but I forgot to factor Guitargeek into my purchasing decisions.

Go ride one, you'll see.

You're totally right!

My friend let me ride his in a parking lot. Yeah, a boat load of torque and power! I was amazed. Instant response, instant power.

My cruiser is a big fat pig compared to that Leopard.

But I still like cruisers.

Welcome!

I have an overstuffed recliner on 3 wheels.

No track days for me, but it is comfy. It got me to Denver and back in addition to being a daily driver, and I do mean daily. It's the Goldwing or the scooter unless it's icy, or I'm picking up a load of firewood.

AZRider's cruiser has plenty of oomph, and it does quite well in the corners, though the floorboards did freak me out...
