Because the board got shutdown again because of a load of database, I had to fettle with the settings again.
As part of that, the server no longer stores what topics you have or haven't read.
IT IS STILL RECORDED!
But now, that information lives in a delicious cookie, rather than the forum database.

Upside: this should reduce the load of database.
Downside: if you use multiple devices to access the board, or you reject delicious cookies, you won't always have that information cookie. But the New Posts feature should take care of that.

Das rubbernecken sightseeren müsten keepen das cottenpickenen hands in das pockets – so relaxen und watchen das blinkenlights.

Ha.

I thought you were saying that you posted that above the machine you were working at.

Sounds like some of the guys working down on the shop floor here is all.

When I don't want to bothered I just put a not on my "privacy screen" on my cubicle that I'm sleeping so leave me alone.

But I couldn't deal with a cubicle so I just quit my job. Now to find another one.......

Well, it's posted over my computer, but they wised up and don't let me play with heavy machinery any more. :P

It really should be hung over something large and dangerous -- or a server.

Well, I have an office I share with a couple of other disgruntled workers, so we turn off all the lights and go into "stealth mode" so folks don't realize we're here.

Our machines would definately be considered large and dangerous. We had one woman a couple of years ago that can only count to 8-1/2

1..2..3..4..5..6..7..7-1/2..8..8-1/2 then she ran out fingers.

I know, that's bad. before you ask she was in on the joke.

That is really funny.

Try this one, just run down the halls and when someone talks to you yell "Ninja vanish!" and then fall flat on your face and just lay there. They probably won't ask you to do anything after that.

There is a game played on the MSC ships at night called Rainbow 6.

The mate on watch dons the night vision and hides in the corner quietly and watches what the AB's on watch do. After 10 min or so its funny to see how poeple react to a percieved absence of command.....

over a beer i'll give some gory details......

I got an Al Capone quote in my cube...
"You can get alot farther with a kind word and a gun, than a kind word alone."
I guess the bad part is that I work at a gun company. That and my
"Happiness is a belt fed weapon" sticker on my computer.

919, it's nothing special - and that's exactly what makes it funny. They did use the exact same voice-over who's narrating all those stupid safety movies and his text is very uptight and says the things you would expect to hear in one of those movies. I remember when I made my forklifter licence they used to show us movies like that, only the non-funny versions ... of course.

Heck, these film-makers seemed to have to much time on their hands and were seriously bored with their jobs.
