Hey everyone - as some of you may or may not know, when I'm not busy doing other things, I spend my Saturday nights driving very deserving dogs & cats up the East coast to get to no-kill rescues and forever homes.
My friend Samantha, who helps to run a great rescue called The Last Resort in West Milford, NJ is having trouble filling her dog rescue run for tomorrow - July 11, 2009.
She still needs some people to drive in the following areas:
LEG 9 ~~NEEDED~~Staunton, VA to Strasburg, VA (I-81) 79 miles 1 hr 20 min - 7:30 pm - 8:50 pm
LEG 10 ~~NEEDED~~Strasburg, VA to Martinsburg, WV (I-81) 62 miles 1 hr - 9:00 pm - 10:00 pm
LEG 11 ~~NEEDED~~ Martinsburg, WV to Harrisburg, PA (I-81) 75 miles 1 hr 30 min - 8:00 am - 9:30 am
So if you know of anyone who lives anywhere in/near/around these areas and would be willing to help, Samantha (Sam) would greatly appreciate it.
She's so desperate, she's even offering gas money at this point.
Basically, what you would need to do is contact Sam, tell her you can drive. She'd give you the names of people before & after your "leg" of transport. You would call those people and find out where to meet up.
Show up at the meeting spot at the designated time, pick up doggies from the person you're meeting and then drive doggies to the next meeting spot and hand them off to the next person.
It's like a doogy relay race to freedom (or underground dog railroad if you will).
This week's passengers are two German Shepherds and one Siberian Husky.
If anyone can help out, please contact Sam directly.
Her email is echo0195@gmail.com and her name is Samantha Grieves. You can tell her you're a friend of mine - just say "Denise from Philly with Lady the boxer dog and the daughter with blond hair" and she'll know me.
If you want the whole list of stops and details, you can PM with your email address and I'll send you the whole "run sheet".
If you know anyone else who could or would like to help, please feel free to pass the info along to them.
Muchos gracias!

If you cannot Debauch because you get an IP blacklist error, try Debauching again time. It may work immediately, it may take a few attempts. It will work eventually, I don't think I had to click debauch more than three times. Someone is overzealous at our hosting company, but only on the first couple of attempts.
If you have problems logging in, posting, or doing anything else, please get in touch.
You know the email (if you don't, see in the registration info below), you know where to find the Administerrerrerr on the Midget Circus.
Some unpleasant miscreant was firing incessant database queries at our server, which forced the Legal Department of our hosting company, via their Abuse subdivision, to shut us down. No I have none.
All I can do it button the hatches, and tighten up a few things. Such as time limits on how long you may take to compose a post and hit Debauch! As of 24/01/10, I've set that at 30 minutes for now.
To restrict further overloads, any unregistered users had to be locked out.
How do we know who is or isn't an unregistered user?
By forcing anyone who wants in to Log In.
Is that annoying?
Yes. But there's only so much the Administerrerrerr can do to keep this place running.
Again, if you have any problems: get in touch.

First fix:
Because the board got shutdown again because of a load of database, I had to fettle with the settings again.
As part of that, the server no longer stores what topics you have or haven't read.
IT IS STILL RECORDED!
But now, that information lives in a delicious cookie, rather than the forum database.
Upside: this should reduce the load of database.
Downside: if you use multiple devices to access the board, or you reject delicious cookies, you won't always have that information cookie. But the New Posts feature should take care of that.
PLEASE NOTIFY THE ADMINISTERRERRERR ABOUT ANY PROBLEMS!
- open the menu at the top
- hit New Posts to see what's actually new and browse the new stuff from there
- go back to the Forum Index
- open the menu at the top again
- click Mark forums read
this will zero the unread anything for you, so you can strive forth into the exciting world of the new cookie thing.

- Everybody dies. It's a love story.
I can't help now, no car, but I'm not far from West Milford and I love the critters.
When I get a car I'll be happy to participate in this doggie pony express.
