Because the board got shutdown again because of a load of database, I had to fettle with the settings again.
As part of that, the server no longer stores what topics you have or haven't read.
IT IS STILL RECORDED!
But now, that information lives in a delicious cookie, rather than the forum database.

Upside: this should reduce the load of database.
Downside: if you use multiple devices to access the board, or you reject delicious cookies, you won't always have that information cookie. But the New Posts feature should take care of that.

Some unpleasant miscreant was firing incessant database queries at our server, which forced the Legal Department of our hosting company, via their Abuse subdivision, to shut us down. No I have none.
All I can do it button the hatches, and tighten up a few things. Such as time limits on how long you may take to compose a post and hit Debauch! As of 24/01/10, I've set that at 30 minutes for now.

Yes. But there's only so much the Administerrerrerr can do to keep this place running.

Scorpion rocks

Post by tumbler » Wed Sep 02, 2009 11:06 am

So i've had a scorpion XDR jacket for about a year now, and its been great.. its leather and textile, and does nifty things... but the leather on the arms, has started coming apart from the textile. so now there are two big holes, one in each arm... its been bugging me for a while, so i decided to call scorpion up. i found their number, rang them up, and got a woman on the other end that just said "hello". i explained my problem to her, she gave me an RMA number, and i'll be getting a brand new jacket soon.. =)

how cool is that? kinda makes me feel good to support an American company, as lame as that sounds.

Can you give me this number? My XDR is losing some stitches as well. I like the jacket, but I fear it will not last much longer.

The helmet may be returned to your local dealer or shipped directly to Scorpion Sports,Inc. for inspection (freight prepaid) to the address printed on the Return Authorization form. Requests for Return Authorization forms should be addressed to Scorpion Sports,Inc., 25921 Atlantic Ocean Dr. Lake Forest, CA 92630 or can be requested via telephone at (888) 672-6774. If the exact model of helmet in question is discontinued or no longer available, a model of equal or better value will be offered at the discretion of Scorpion Sports,Inc.

(888) 672-6774 pretty sweet system they have.. too bad they are all the way in CA. :(

i was wondering about them. i saw their jackets and helmets at the Joplin Honda shop and really liked what they had.

I need to get a new helmet sometime soon and i liked the exo 1000 helmet. fit nice.

i'd also like to get an armor jacket instead of the nontactical jacket i have now. i saw the scorpion (i forget the model) and thought it was pretty freaking awesome. armor in the right places, seemed sturdy, looked great. i thought the neck area was a bit tight, but it prolly was just because i was standing straight up, if i was bent over on the bike it might not be so tight.

awesome service you got from them, makes me want their stuff more.

I just got a call back from Scorpion USA. They gave me he same treatment. (3 years from date of purchase: as long as it was not involved in a crash or eaten by animals). They gave me an RA, and are shipping me a new jacket. Awesome service, really.
