This measure is inconvenient, yes, but necessary at present.

EVERYTHING IS MARKED UNREAD!!
First fix:
- open the menu at the top
- hit New Posts to see what's actually new and browse the new stuff from there
- go back to the Forum Index
- open the menu at the top again
- click Mark forums read
this will zero the unread anything for you, so you can strive forth into the exciting world of the new cookie thing.
Because the board got shutdown again because of a load of database, I had to fettle with the settings again.
As part of that,
the server no longer stores what topics you have or haven't read.
IT IS STILL RECORDED!
But now, that information lives in a delicious
cookie, rather than the forum database.
Upside: this should reduce the load of database.
Downside: if you use multiple devices to access the board, or you reject delicious cookies, you won't always have that information cookie. But the
New Posts feature should take care of that.
PLEASE NOTIFY THE ADMINISTERRERRERR ABOUT ANY PROBLEMS!
2024 LOGIN/Posting ISSUES
If you cannot Debauch because you get an IP blacklist error, try Debauching again time. It may work immediately, it may take a few attempts. It will work eventually, I don't think I had to click debauch more than three times. Someone is overzealous at our hosting company, but only on the first couple of attempts.
If you have problems logging in, posting, or doing anything else, please get in touch.
You know the email (if you don't, see in the registration info below), you know where to find the Administerrerrerr on the Midget Circus.
Some unpleasant miscreant was firing incessant database queries at our server, which forced the Legal Department of our hosting company, via their Abuse subdivision, to shut us down. No I have none.
All I can do it button the hatches, and tighten up a few things. Such as time limits on how long you may take to compose a post and hit Debauch! As of 24/01/10, I've set that at 30 minutes for now.
To restrict further overloads, any unregistered users had to be locked out.
How do we know who is or isn't an unregistered user?
By forcing anyone who wants in to Log In.
Is that annoying?
Yes. But there's only so much the Administerrerrerr can do to keep this place running.
Again, if you have any problems: get in touch.

So I was the the IH site looking for some information on my already oversided 1972 Scout. Then I saw this thing. Yes a vehicle for those that feel transporting their family in a Hummer is not enough. ( In the catalouge there is a atv in the bed, like a little pickup won't do)

I'd better see a friggin' fifth-wheel about 60 feet long and full of horses behind that ugly bastard! Who has such insecurity that they would buy such a thing to go get groceries? Can you say CDL?! Sorry, this is a pet peeve. The thing that really gets me is the 70-year-old in the "motorcoach" land-yacht abomination. You mean to tell me I can't drive a type-3 engine through town without a CDL but grandpa can trade-up from his already-dangerous cadillac just by dropping a gajillion dollars? AAARRRRRGGGHHHHHH!!

You haven't seen them yet CB????

I know of atleast 3 on the streets here in Phoenix, 2 belong to Constuction companies and one belongs to Ernhard RV (atleast the signage on said puppies fit those descriptions)...I know that one of the contractors uses it for a daily driver as well.

What is truly bizarr is that this vehicle is apparently popular in the USA...while US journalists are scared by the thought of a proper utility vehicle:

They claim 10mpg. That's better than the 8mpg an original Hummer gets. Still far to little.
I'm just waiting for the day a 64ft 18 wheel truck is considered "a great family car" perfect for taking the kids to soccer practice. All those soccer moms with "my kid is an honor student at dumbfuck junior high" on the mud flaps instead of naked chrome ladies...
Coasting is for wussies.

I have an 88 Toyota pickup with a little 4 banger that gets 25 mpg and probably gets about 5 times more "truck" use than the average luxury truck.
That said, I am in no position to judge. My previous car maybe got a bit over 10 mpg when the picture below was taken, but shortly after that trip, the transmission started slipping, and the fuel pump started spraying fuel onto the pavement, significantly reducing economy. I eventually replaced the fuel pump, but wasn't terribly quick to. I always wanted to get one of those "one less SUV" bumperstickers that people on their GEO Metros just to see if anyone got the joke.

I've seen on of those monstrosities. It looks even bigger in person.
I used to have a 1985 Ford Crown Vic which was a great vehicle. Did about 8 months worth of lights/siren runs to the volunteer fire dept I was on. Once drove it about 17 miles with out it getting into the overdrive gear on the highway. Sounded like a turbine! Loose grommet on the linkage and the transmission shop charged me a whopping $30 bucks for the repair. Gotta love that. Unfortunately because it had that weird hybrid carb, it got 12mpg, 13 on a good day. Sold it cheap after we moved to Virginia in 2001. It started to downshift in to NOTHING in the mountains in WV and E VA during the special road trip I made to pick it up from Cincinnati.
My GMC Safari gets about 18mpg, which is better than the crappy 2000 Caravan my wife inherited. $2300 in repairs in the last 18 months, not even 75,000 miles on it yet.

Off of Washington Highway 142 on the Klickitat River. It was some kind of pumping station or powerhouse or something. The inside was completely collapsed, but you could see furniture and other stuff. Kind of a weird spot with springs bubbling through the ground all over the place.
Somewhere along here:
